ISPO Brandnew Story – polychromelab goes Racing

ISPO Brandnew Award Magazine 2015 – polychromelab goes Racing

Polychromelab’s Designer Michele Stinco was nominated for jury member of ISPO Brandnew Award 2015. His expertise is based on long year experience as product designer. This is one reason for making him jury member of Brandnew Award 2015. For polychromelab winning this prestigious award for startups in 2012 already is the other reason.

On this occasion ISPO Brandnew Award Magzine presents polychromelab in a story of success. The magazine was especially convinced by polychromelabs’s effort to engineer innovative products. In collaboration with Schoeffel a reversible winteroverall for Skiteam Austria was designed, that will help ski racers at warmup, training and racecourse inspections.

News about world’s first reversible Winteroverall

Outkomm: Press release of world’s first reversible Winteroverall

Out now: Many customers have asked for it, fans demanded this and we wished for it – polychromelab engineers a whole-body clothing concept. By now there were “only” jackets available, that helped to regulate and stabalise bodytemperature outdoors to enjoy maximum wearing comfort at sports. Now there’s world’s first reversible winteroverall by polychromelab, that helps you regulate and stabalise body temperature outdoors.

An other great feature of this concept is, that this new winteroverall by polychromelab not only is suitable for extreme coldness, but also could be worn in spring, when sun radiation is higher and one easier starts to sweat wearing warm wintergear.

By all this functionality we haven’t forgot about design: two sides, two colours, two overalls – all in one winteroverall. Here’s the german press release to polychromelab’s new winteroverall on Outkomm:

Spot Magazine Jacket Launch

About our Spot Magazine Jacket – What is Special?

The Swiss outdoor journal Spot Magazine introduces from time to time interesting routes, places and equipment trends. This time in the repository: Roccia Rossa sports jacket by polychromelab.

You can have a look on our designer jacket on Spot Magazine Online: Spot-Magazine-Jacket-polychromelab-Repository

This is why we were chosen: Many manufacturers engineer their jackets in an office on computers and start testing the first time, when products are allready in series production. We try to test our prototypes in various stress tests to eliminate shortcomings early. Furthermore we manufacture in Northern Italy to make transport and communication distances as short as possible. An additional sustainable aspect is an ecofriendly PFC-free finishing by HeiQ Barrier Eco to make our sports jackets waterproof.

Here is the post in Spot MagazineSpot-Magazine-Jacket-polychromelab-Roccia-Rossa

Putting emphasis on functionality modern design means a lot to us: The Roccia Rossa designer jacket is an uncompromising fusion of style and functionality. More about this topic in our jackets onlineshop.

Thomas Rottenberg about recommended Outdoor Jackets

Newspaper Article about recommended Outdoor Jackets

Thomas Rottenberg writes for various blogs and amongst others for the Austrian newspaper Der Standard. The passionate outdoor sports journalist presents every week some outdoor gadgets, which are essential for sports, fun and all other outdoor activities. On February 1st 2015 he gave his feedback about Alta Quota outdoor jacket by polychromelab.

“I admit: I don’t want to return this jacket.”

This is how Thomas Rottenberg introduces his article about recommended outdoor jackets. In this review he talks about, what jackets manufacturers promise and what outdoor jackets are capable of in the end. However, for a jackets manufacturer it is difficult to inform customers about the capabilities of their jackets the right way. So it is really helpful when an experienced journalist spontaneously does this job: in his feedback Thomas Rottenberg gives a statement about recommended outdoor jackets and compares our product information with his experiences with wearing the Alta Quota outdoor jacket on a skitour in Davos.

Stress Test for High-Tech Hiking Jackets

High-Tech Hiking Jackets scientifically proven

Alpine sports blog Bergsteigen.com does the stress test in comparing high-tech hiking jackets. The blog Bergsteigen.com writes interesting articles all about hiking, mountaineering, climbing and so on. Presentation of trends, testing new equipment and discussion of new routes are fields of duty for this outdoor blog.

The team of Bergsteigen.com tested Alta Quota Outdoor Jacket and Roccia Rossa Hybrid Jacket – both polychromelab’s high-tech jackets – over several months in the absolute stress test. Here you can read the full report of Bergsteigen.com! Here you’ll find out, how we proove our high-tech hiking jackets scientifically!

Bergsteigen.com does the stress test for outdoor jackets

This is an article of Bergsteigen.com. Translation by polychromelab.

The team of Bergsteigen.com tested two reversible jackets by polychromelab in a test over several months and all seasons: Both the modell Alta Quota and the modell Roccia Rossa have been tested.

Both modells excel in having little weight (modell Roccia Rossa size S 300 grams) and in beeing manufactured cleanly. Remarkably, both jackets do not look worn out after months of not really caring use in the mountains.

Additionally, all seams are welded to make the jacket waterproof. Windproofness is outstanding. For example, for one stormy and cold ski tour we only have worn a thin Merino-Baselayer, a Merino-Vest and of course a polychromelab jacket to be dressed adequately.

This jackets made of a three-layer laminate are conceptualized as reversible jackets: whether it’s cold or hot, one wears the warming, dark-coloured side (99 % absorption) or the cooling, light-coloured side on top (45% reflection). This is highly functional, because this way the wearer is dressed allright in a great range of temperature. If you search for something to criticize, you could find fault with weldseams on the reflecting side, which are distinctly visible, and with some of the pockets, which aren’t that good to reach.

Bergsteigen.com: Our Résumé

The Roccia Rossa is prettier, the Alta Quota the more functional jacket. This is why we as alpine sportsmen fancy the Alta Quota. For example, the clean tailored Roccia Rossa compared to the Alta Quota hardly has any pockets, which is a lack of storage room for tours in the mountains. A true disadvantage of both jackets stays with the price: both modells are € 700. One, who spends this amount of money for outdoor jackets, will be happy about having a great high-tech textile for many years. For persons, that make a point acting sustainable, will be interested in the fact that the production of the jackets take place only in Austria and Italy, rather than in Far East.

AWS supports hybrid outdoorjackets

The AWS supports hybrid outdoorjackets by polychromelab

AWS supports multifunctional hybrid outdoorjackets by polychromelab for three years already. Here what AWS has to say about polychromelab outdoorjackets:

Impulse XS supported fabric, realised as a reversible jacket, absorbs warmth, reflects warmth by reversing the jacket. Best protection at sports or work. What else? New usabilities and fabric combinations will be explored. Cool/Hot?

The business concept is based on the product development of a fabric, visaualised and realised as a hybrid outdoorjacket, which received financial support by impulse XS in 2011. The unique selling proposition of the jacket is the polychrome-laminat fabric. The jacket is able to absorb warmth through textile physics and reflect warmth by applied physics and adapts itself easily to every weather condition by turning inside out. These features are the optimal preconditions for manufacturing a fabric with a ceramic membrane as sports apparel and work protection apparel. Through an intelligent composition of fabric, inside and membrane in combination with different textiles emerge many undeveloped possibilities of application and production of different types of jackets. This two temperature zones based system is waterproof, highly breathable, windproof, stylish and sustainable conceptualized. A wide range of use will be explored in near future, more fabrics will be developed. This concept makes the way for a whole new types of jackets.
